Methodology notes

Data from Quebec was not included in this table because of significant under-reporting of transplant data between 2012 and 2023.

Year refers to calendar year.

The number of transplant recipients includes recipients of deceased and living donor organs, unless otherwise specified.

The number of transplant recipients will be less than the number of transplants, as some patients received more than one transplant/more than one organ. Note that kidney–pancreas transplants are not included under kidney-only or pancreas-only transplants.

Not all types of transplants are performed in each province.

Data quality notes

CORR is a longitudinal database, following patients over time. Reporting centres may submit changes/updates for any particular year on an ongoing basis. As a result, data is subject to change and may differ from previously published reports.

This data comes from transplant recipient–level data provided by transplant programs and organ donation organizations across the country. It may differ from the data provided in Summary statistics on organ transplants, wait-lists and donors, a report that is based on aggregate counts provided annually by organ donation organizations.
