These NRS Quick Stats were developed by the Canadian Institute for ϱ Information (CIHI) and make use of the Netsmart Technologies, Inc. (Netsmart) Rehabilitation Client Groups (RCGs) and FIM® instrument.

Based on clients discharged between 2017–2018 and 2023–2024 with complete admission and discharge assessments from facilities that participate in the National Rehabilitation Reporting System (NRS).
Excludes clients with an unknown date ready for admission.
A Rehabilitation Client Group (RCG) value of “Other RCGs” includes congenital deformities, developmental disabilities and other disabling impairments.
In the data tables, the dash (—) indicates that the metric was not calculated because the discharge volume was 0.

The NRS collects data from participating adult inpatient rehabilitation facilities and programs in 9 jurisdictions across Canada. Data reflects full coverage from Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Ontario and Saskatchewan, and partial coverage from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. There are no inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the Yukon, the Northwest Territories or Nunavut.
