ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨Portal is a comprehensive business intelligence offering that features a web-based analytical tool, a multi- tiered training program, facilitated communities of practice and customized consulting services. This powerful and dynamic offering has been made available to Canada’s hospitals, regional health authorities, ministries of health and other health care organizations on a cost-sharing basis.

Policy notes 

• Provinces and territories that opt for jurisdiction-wide implementation and communities of practice (CoPs) will receive a 25% discount for users they manage (i.e., user licences included in their schedule 1). CoPs are defined as user groups that have a shared interest and a paymaster who coordinates licensing and invoicing across all members in separate organizations that are not already included in jurisdiction-wide implementations.
• Unless otherwise agreed to in writing by CIHI, the client will pay the fees annually upon receipt of an invoice by CIHI. The number of users can be adjusted when required. When a user is added, access will be granted within 5 business days of receiving notice. When a user is removed, access will be revoked on the date specified in the notification. If there is a change in number of users during a fiscal year, the resulting fee adjustments will be reflected on the next invoice. In the case of client cancellation of Portal services, a refund will be issued for the prorated portion of the remaining quarter(s) within the fiscal year.
• As part of the bilateral agreements that ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨has with the provinces and territories, provincial and territorial ministries of health are provided with 1 analyst licence free of charge. This licence may be assigned at the ministry’s discretion.
• Consultation and specialized support services are available for analysts up to a maximum of
  • 15 hours per year for the client’s first analyst; and  
  • 7.5 hours per year for each additional analyst. 
    Support services are provided in response to requests submitted by analysts. Clients may purchase additional customized consultation and specialized support services at the applicable fees specified in CIHI’s current Products and Services Guide.
