Reliable, comparable and actionable data is critical to providing accurate and valuable insights to support health policy and decision-making. To ensure that we have first-rate analytical tools, techniques and practices to best meet the evolving and future health data and information needs of Canada’s health systems, ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨is modernizing its analytics toolkit. This will allow us to better serve our clients by collecting, processing and analyzing essential heath data and providing relevant analytical products.

Part of CIHI’s modernization plan is the migration from SAS to the open-source software Python and R, and to Apache Parquet file format. ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨will work with clients to make the transition as seamless as possible. Specific migration schedules will vary by product and will be communicated to affected clients between now and March 2025.
