Cardiac care
July 28, 2022 — About 2.4 million Canadians have heart disease. It is the second leading cause of death in Canada.
The Cardiac Care Quality Indicators Report examines the results of 6 comparable pan-Canadian indicators on mortality and readmission outcomes following percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary artery bypass graft and aortic valve replacement. ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨reported results of these indicators to
- Improve transparency
- Make data more accessible to health professionals to support quality improvement efforts
- Help facilitate the sharing of best practices across cardiac care centres
The indicators were identified and developed in partnership with the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) and are based on strong clinical expertise from across the country.
This final update to the CCQI report series reflects the most recent information available from the 2019–2020 and 2020–2021 data cycles. Read about success of CCQI reporting (see Key links).
