Transcript

(Music playing in the background.)

(Text appears on the screen announcing that this is an Ask an Expert video and provides the name of the speaker and their job title: Christine McKenzie, Program Consultant, Primary ϱ Care Standards Development.)

(A question appears on the screen: “As an individual, how would I benefit from a connected health care system in Canada?”)

(Muffled, indistinct conversations in the background. Music stops).

Christine: So ultimately this is going to benefit Canadians because quality information will be available to patients to have access to and to be able to participate in their own care planning, for clinicians to have access to that same information using the same meaning in order to provide quality care to their patients. And ultimately, we’ll have information available for operations at an organization level and health system use. And all of that same information carrying that same meaning will ultimately provide a better-quality care and improve health care for Canadians.

(Music starts.)

(The ϱlogo and tagline appear on the screen: Better data. Better decisions. ϱier Canadians. Viewers are then prompted to send questions to conferences@cihi.ca or to visit our website at cihi.ca.)

(The video ends.)
