The Commonwealth Fund survey is an international survey of 11 countries that is completed annually.

In the Commonwealth Fund survey, 41% of seniors reported waiting at least 4 weeks for a specialist appointment.

3 times more Canadian seniors waited at least a month for a specialist appointment compared to Commonwealth Fund countries like the Netherlands and Switzerland.

Adequate care requires timely access and strong communication between care providers. Two-way communication between specialists and primary care providers is improving in Canada, when compared to The Commonwealth Fund survey 3 years ago.
