Commonwealth Fund survey, 2017
Canadian seniors are less satisfied with the quality of the health care they receive than those age 65 and older in 10 similar countries, a key international survey shows.
The 2017 edition of The Commonwealth Fund’s annual International ºìÁì½í¹Ï±¨ Policy Survey focused on the views and experiences of seniors in 11 developed countries: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. The findings show that just 67% of Canadians age 65 and older are satisfied with the quality of their health care. The average of the 11 countries is 76%, and Switzerland has the highest satisfaction, at 84%.
The survey asked seniors about many aspects of their health care experience, from mental health and access to medical specialists, to quality of home care and end-of-life planning.
